Getting Started with Magento
Once you have selected Magento as the right platform for your online store, your next step will be to select the appropriate edition at Magento.com.
The Enterprise Edition and Enterprise Cloud Edition (now called Magento Commerce) are paid editions, which offer higher performance and scale-ability for growing and medium to enterprise sized businesses. Magento also provides you direct access to their expert support team.
The Community Edition (now called Magento Open Source) is open source and available for free. This is aimed more towards developers who are familiar with Magento or for businesses who do not need Enterprise features and can support the platform themselves or with a Magento partner such as MW2.
